Casey (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Art Therapist working toward her Certified Eating Disorder Specialist certification under the supervision of Caroyln Reed Hersh, MA, LPC, CEDS-S. Casey has a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from the University of Vermont double majoring in Studio Art and Psychology and a Master’s of Science degree from the Eastern Virginia Medical School majoring in Art Therapy and Counseling. Casey is an active member of iaedp, has completed training from the National Eating Disorder Association as a Body Project Facilitator, and received additional training in trauma-informed care.
Casey has served various populations, including children, adolescents, adults, groups, and families in inpatient, outpatient, and community based settings, as well as, completing psychosocial assessments and providing crisis intervention in the community. She has served as a supervising clinician for intensive in-home and mental health skill building services. Casey also facilitates Art Therapy Groups at a local Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Eating Disorder Treatment Center. She uses an integrated approach working with people, but heavily relies on CBT/DBT, Gestalt, and existential approaches.
In her free time, Casey serves her community as a volunteer for the Virginia Medical Reserve Corps, co-facilitates a support group for adults with various eating disorders, spends time outdoors hiking in the mountains, and spends time at home making art.
