Ashley (she/her) is a Resident in Counseling in the state of Virginia. She graduated from James Madison University in 2015 with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Justice. After about 4 years working in local non-profit agencies, serving as a direct care provider in a women’s shelter and as a case manager for those seeking housing, she began to pursue her career in mental health. She then graduated from Old Dominion University in 2022 with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Her work in those local agencies informs who she is as a therapist. She believes it is important to acknowledge how not only our personal choices impact us, but also how larger systems play a role in our overall wellbeing. From this lens, she collaborates with clients to create goals that are right for them. Ashley is passionate that her work with clients is trauma-informed, inclusive of LGBTQIA+ folks, and person-centered. Her clinical experiences range from working with individuals from ages 15 and up with anxiety, depression, trauma and grief.
Ashley utilizes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), family systems, and somatic-based interventions to address and support the mind-body connection.
